Being a backronym of AADC (the title of an Indonesian movie), "approach-avoidance defensive conflict" refers to the psychological struggle where a single goal has both positive and negative aspects, causing a person to be both drawn to and repelled by it. This internal tension leads to stress and indecision as the individual weighs the pros and cons, and the conflict often results in periods of back-and-forth thinking. Examples include wanting a promotion but dreading the longer hours, or wanting a vacation but being discouraged by the high cost.
She faced an approach-avoidance defensive conflict when she considered accepting the job offer; the salary was great, but the thought of a longer commute made her hesitate.

The "Gain" Approach

Originally named after a UK student, the "Gain" approach involves completing a task using the least effort possible.

Usually applied to programming, it relies on templates, copying large chunks of code, and limiting functionality to decrease production time.

So long as the output meets the minimum test criteria, it is considered a success.

Mount Vernon Approach

A.k.a: "The Mt. Vernon method"
An old strategy for cleaning and decluttering...the Mount Vernon Method. Originating from the Washington Estate: Mt. Vernon
The Mount Vernon Approach was used at George Washington's estate, the method involves a one-room-at-a-time approach, starting at the door and moving clockwise around the room, cleaning and organizing one piece of furniture before moving on to the next. The advantage of this method is pacing yourself, and having clear goals that can be accomplished one by one.

n. "I learned to use the Mt. Vernon approach from my mother." --E.M.

My approach

It isn't going to change. You're doimg this out of spite and I'm not going to let you off the hook for nothing. Again, I don't actually care about the morality of it at this point. If doing something immoral prevent you from "training" me. I'm not changing my behavior.
