The practice of moving back and forth between two languages or between two dialects or registers of the same language at one time. But this specific word relates to switching the way a LGBTQIA+ person talks around other non LGBTQ people. The sister switch also know as the roomate switch because it applies to roomates and sisters. You find out your girlfriend’s sister/roomate is the more desireable one and you want to switch.
