The Ring Girl

The common name given to Samara Morgan from "The Ring", the American remake of the Japanese film/novel "Ringu." People call her this when they can't remember her name, which is stupid because the very people who call her that then proceed to say: "Oh, she is sooo scary! I love her! I didn't get ANY sleep after that movie!" If she had really had that effect on them, then how come they couldn't remember her name?

(Variations include "that girl from The Ring," "Sahara," "the Grudge girl," and "Sadako.")

Smoke ring

A smoking trick where a person expels an "O-shaped" ring of smoke from the mouth. Smoke rings can be formed using a variety of techniques involving controlled muscle movements in the air passages to produce the effect. Typically, a circular opening of the mouth is made and the smoke is pushed through the opening with a gentle exhaling puff made by quick movements of the toungue and throat. Rings can also be made by taking smoke into the mouth, forming a small "O" with the lips and then gently tapping on one's cheek. Blowing smoke rings usually takes practice and the best technique varies from person to person.

I always thought smoking looked cool, remembering when I watched old cartoons when I was a kid and some cigar smoking character dipped his smoke ring into his coffee like a doughnut!

Any ring that a woman wears on her INDEX finger to show that she is on her menstual cycle (period). Girls should wear a ring on their finger during this time of month to show you to back off at a party or such. This will stop any sexual awkwardness from happening if you were to attempt to hit on the woman.

Ding Ring

A term used to describe the white etched ring that appears just above the label on beer bottles. It is caused by the bottles knocking together while contained in a beer box. This phenomena was first noticed by the Germans around 1947 and the phrase almost defeated "Deutsche Mark" as the name for the common German currency.

poison ring

A ring from medieval times that resembles a locket with a storage area. These were used to store poison to slip in someone's drink or food. They are fairly large and decorative with a flip-up top. Also used to store one's sniffable illicit substances. AKA "crack ring."
