Market Orthodoxy

The established, institutionalized set of beliefs about markets that dominate economics and policy—the often-unexamined assumptions that markets are efficient, that prices reflect value, that competition benefits consumers, that market outcomes are fair, and that market mechanisms should be extended to more and more domains of life. Market orthodoxy includes specific commitments: that supply and demand determine optimal prices, that market allocation is superior to planning, that market incentives drive innovation, that market discipline improves organizations, and that "market forces" are natural rather than constructed. Like all orthodoxies, it provides a framework for economic thinking, but it functions as ideology—making market arrangements seem natural and inevitable, obscuring how markets are created and maintained by state power, and delegitimizing non-market alternatives. Market orthodoxy determines what economic arrangements are considered "efficient," what policies are "distortions," and who counts as "economically literate."

Example: "He assumed that markets naturally produce optimal outcomes—not because he'd studied market failures, but because market orthodoxy had made that assumption seem like common sense. The orthodoxy's power is making its central claims feel like observations rather than assumptions."

Marketing Guy Dee

Marketing Guy Dee is a Black American film producer, television producer, and marketing professional. He entered the entertainment industry in 2001 as a marketing promotions professional, just months before the 9/11 incident. He began his career working for a Black-owned marketing promotions company on the East Coast that successfully promoted platinum-selling musical artists, independent artists, movie soundtracks, and films.

With decades of experience, Marketing Guy Dee has built a reputation as a versatile and accomplished figure. He has done his work in the fame world without being famous, proving that impact does not always require the spotlight. Beyond his professional work, he has served as a mentor for middle school students, participated in protests, and established himself as an activist. His leadership and academic excellence in high school earned him his first activist award from the Union League and recognition from the Mayor and Governor of his state.

Over the years, he has been interviewed by numerous magazines, featured by artists, and mentioned in articles and radio segments by film directors. In 2025, Marketing Guy Dee is still playing a big role in the creation and growth of a Black-owned television station in Atlanta, broadcasting shows and commercials to thousands of households. He continues to work in marketing within the entertainment industry and is currently writing his life story in a book.

They range from poorly done paint and stickers, aftermarket kits that are unpainted or painted the wrong color, spoilers, pointless large mufflers, curb feelers, etc. Can almost always be related to dubs on hoopties or cars that are fast and furious.

I would like to get a 1964 Chevy, but all the ones that I've seen have hydraulics or tiny wheels. I don't really want something from the select market.
