He comes from a different time

A phrase used by many people as means of justification for an older person doing or saying something typically racist, sexist, or simply insensitive. This is said because these senile people come from a time when Jews were thought of as lesser, being gay was automatic hell in your life, and don't even get me started on being black.
Gramps: Those damn Jews and their smartass Asians are stealing all of America's money! I bet they're gay too!
Donny: Sir, I find that highly offensive and racist. Bro, can you please control your blatantly racist father?
Butch: I'm very sorry bro. But you know, he comes from a different time.
Donny: I guess it's ok then...

In reference to Ron Paul's first tv ad for the Republican New Hampshire Primaries.

When this comment is spoken/written, it is meant to be funny.
(As seen in online message boards) Did you see that Ron Paul has 60,000 members in meetup groups? He's catching on, I'm telling ya.

He Put the Team on his Back

To do something both amazing and impossible for the overall benefit of your team, such as carrying victory and "dat shit" 99 yards with a broken leg, avoiding Darren SHAARPUH, crossing the plane, and getting a touchdown.
This is why I say Im one of the hardest niggas in Madden. I have one of the most best offenses in Madden history. Look at dis shit. Look at dat nigga. Greg Jennings caught dat shit, prolly last play of the game. But dawg, earlier doh, this nigga broke his FUCKIN LEG. How is he running with a broken. leg? Look at dis nigga holdin this shit doh. kick a man when he's down

(v.) To kick a man when he's down is to attack at the persons weakest moment. It defies the gentlemanly code of ethics, and does detract from reputation. Used literally or figuratively, it still has pretty much the same meaning.
I never kick a man when he'd down; stamping on his head is easier!
