Nice Guy

A Nice Guy is a young or middle-aged male who believes a woman owes it to sleep with him out of gratitude for basic courtesy, like opening a door or not calling her names. Believes only men who look like Abercrombie & Fitch models or possess immense fortunes ever get laid -- or at least, he keeps saying that in order to feel like there are more womanless men out there than there really are. Routinely blames women for his inability to develop and sustain relationships; or to get to a third date even. Frequently tells himself and other Nice Guys that women like to be beaten, raped and called names -- and that's why they (the Nice Guys), cannot get dates. Hides violent pornography under the floor boards. Faced with the fact that none of the women he finds attractive want to date him, concludes that there must be something wrong with women.

Joe is a nice guy, he deserves to get laid!

nicemodernism

Nicemodernism is, at its core, a rejection of the post-modern refusal to take a positive stand. Rather than blithely accept the hipster paradigm that "cool" may be measured only by semantically null snobbery and arcane knowledge, the nicemodernists strive for a self-actualized understanding of what makes them happy. Nicemodernists reject the negativity and self-denying deconstructivism spawned by the pervasive fear of the Cold War era in favor of a delightfully clever Weltanschauung of self-love. Thus, there is no set style of dress or list of bands by which nicemodernists may be identified, but only an attitude of personal responsibility for one's own happiness. In a sense, it may be considered a modern outgrowth of Epicureanism tempered by the pressures of modern urban life.

The preps scorned me for liking to code; the goths rejected me for my freckles; the geeks begrudged me my rock climbing hobby - only the nicemodernists accepted that I could enjoy what I liked, and disregard the rest.

Nice Guy Syndrome

When a poor nice guy can't get a girl to like him just because she
- already has a boyfriend

- thinks he is completely unattractive
- doesn't like his personality
or because he
- is a total neckbeard
- doesn't understand social cues
- is probably a brony, furry, etc.
- calls himself a "pickup artist"
- wears a fedora everywhere he goes

A neckbeard says, "I can't believe Stephanie won't dump her boyfriend and be my girlfriend. Girls always go for the douchebags when they could have a guy like me who will love them and respect them!"
His non-neckbeard friend replies, "Dude- you've totally got Nice Guy Syndrome! Go jack off to My Little Pony or some shit."
