FTTP

Fiber to the Premises. Industry slang for running fiber optic cable to a neighborhood, campus, or business, but not all the way through the building or all the way to your home.

A stopgap measure deployed while telecom and internet companies spend billions to rewire their networks and give you higher speed.

Any type of fiber will allow much higher internet speeds and allow for things like HDTV video chatting with friends, large online gaming, etc.

FTP

Fuck the Pies (FTP) is a standard phrase uttered during a conversation with some supporters of the Collingwood Football Club (a.k.a the Pies) in Melbourne, Australia. Supporters of this football club are well known for overestimating their teams abilities beyond what normal people considerable acceptable/tolerable levels.

This opens them up to constant mockery because they do it every fucking year. Having to deal with this shit every week of the football season is too great a price to pay for the satisfaction received when Collingwood fails to make the finals, or looses in the finals.

Etymologists believe that this eventually lead to the birth of the phrase: "Karma's a bitch, motherfucker!".

The abbreviation FTP can be used during text-based communication, or to avoid filters for swear words. It does not have the same effect when spoken out loud.

Collingwood supporter: "Pies are gonna win the flag this year"
Non-Collingwood supporter: "Fuck the Pies!"

Collingwood supporter: "Pies are gonna win this week"
Non-Collingwood supporter: "Fuck the Pies!"
