Acting Harry

When a person says they have been productive, when in reality, they have accomplished little or nothing. Not only is nothing accomplished by this individual, but he or she often impedes on the progress other.

Furthermore, when accused of doing nothing, they will often act pusillanimously.

Consider the following dialogue:

X:"Hey Y, how was your day?"

Y:"Oh it was great, I went to the gym, and finished the business homework"

X:"Oh can we compare answers?!"

Y:"umm.....no"

X:"You didn't do it, did you?"

Y:"YOU DIDN'T DO IT!"

Y:"BIIITCH!

Artingstall

Somewhere roaming the hills of northern England is the nomadic Artingstall tribe, they wander from town to town and from village to village dominating with their sexual prowess and witty humour. These are doubtlessly the coolest people to set foot on the British isles.

Guy 1) "Hey, my extremely hot girlfriend just left me to go home with that guy"

Guy 2) "Yeah it happens, he's an Artingstall"

Guy 1) "Oh.... Ok, I dont blame her.

mega-acting

Mega-acting is a term used in place of “over-acting” when meant as a compliment. “Over-acting” means you’ve gone too far, you have too large an amount of acting, like overfilling a glass and it spills all over the place and you have to clean it up. Mega-acting doesn’t spill because it’s a deliberate stylistic choice. It may be absurd, cartoonish, exaggerated, operatic, but not an accident. You didn’t overfill the glass. You purposely used a huge stein.

Classic examples of mega-acting include Nic Cage as Castor Troy in FACE/OFF, Nick Nolte in HULK, Nic Cage in THE WICKER MAN.

More commonly used in South Wales.

ham acting

when a person overacts immensely. it is generally more accepted in the theatre but criticised in film and tv. can also describe a person who is being fake. also called "hamming it"

Barbara Kellerman in the BBC adaptation of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe shows a lot of ham acting in her portrayal of the White Witch.
