Tween

A child aged between 10 and 12, the definitition originally only applied to 12 year olds, but has since broadened.

TWELVE + TEEN = TWEEN.

Someone who is not quite a teenager.

Often watches Disney shows (Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place) and listens to Disney bands (Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana).

Can be used in a derogatory fashion, implying that someone is immature.

Ex 1:

"My sister had her tweenage friends for a sleep over last night, they stayed up listening to Hannah Montana and watching High School Musical."

Ex 2:

Girl 1: " I love (insert celebrities name here), I want to marry them and have their babies and...
Girl 2: You're such a tween.

Tween

Coming from an 11 year-old girl's point of view, this is what a tween is.

This word mostly used to describe an 9-12 year old girl who:
-watches Disney Channel religiously
-wears more makeup than most adults
-uses excessive profanity while talking to friends, because they think they are a teenager
-only wear clothes from Justice
-gossips about what will be forgotten the next day
-either hates the latest pop boy-band or loves them, there is no inbetween
-desperately tries to be a teenager
-tries to act emo, scene, hipster, etc.

Example one:

Tween One: Oh my fucking gosh! I just lost my fucking lip-gloss!! It's the end of the world omg!!
Tween Two: OMG!! Hope you're okay! Tough luck!

Example Two:
(Texting)

Tween One: OMfG!! DiD u Here dat (Tween three's name) goT 2 go 2 da 1D consert!?!

Tween Two: OmFG!! ShE Dosent evin Lyk them! FaKe Fan Alert!1!!
Tween One: LOLZZ I hEARd heR PaReNtS Got divorSed!! LOLZZ FUKIN LUZeR

Anyone "'tween" the age of eight and fifteen whom:
1. Watches Disney Channel constantly
2. MUST keep up with latest trends
3. Is/likes Miley Cyrus
4. Likes the Jonas Brothers (hint hint)
5. Constantly listens to pop
6. Drinks Red Bull because the Jonas Brothers are doing so.

Tween1: OMGzH4xz!!!11! did you get the new Jonas Brothers CD?!?!
Tween2: Totally, I got some Red Bull too!!
Both: OMGGZ IT'S JUSTIN GASTON!!!11!!!oneoneoene11@!!

tween

An age set overlapping preteens, 'tween 8 and 14. A tween desperately wants to be a teen, but isn't about to stop being a kid. May flirt one minute, but be embarrassed about it the next; usually prefers titillation by proxy.

When I was in 4th grade, several of us would gang up on a boy and girl and make them kiss each other for our titillation.

I was standing in line behind another teen, and the 10 year olds she was baby-sitting kept pushing her against men behind her to to get titillation by proxy. I made sure to stand behind her a lot that day.

Google "CSM Models" for an eye full of tweens getting titillation by proxy, flirting with the camera instead of a person.

Adjective used to describe prissy, silly, whimsical people...more often than not this applies to teenage girls and their gay counterparts.

I like love it when you get all tweeny and like tell me about like serious thing and stuff like that.
