nice guy speech

Generally, a lie a woman tells a guy when she doesn't want anything to with him. Usually performed after the guy tries to 'court' the woman.

Usually followed up by "I'm not looking for anyone right now," but can be seen dating/fucking other guys seconds later.

Generally, this is just a way women try to pacify men but usually just infuriates them.
Joey: "Hey, Jenny. I really like you a lot, would you go out with me sometime?"

Johnny: "Look, Johnny. You're a really nice guy but I think we should just be friends. I just got out of a really bad relationship and don't want to date yet."

Seconds later

Joey: "Wait!? Is Jenny having sex with Dean in my car?!"

speech and debate

Officially established under the National Forensic League, and the National Catholic Forensic League
generally consists of the following categories:

OO- original oratory- ten minute original memorized speech on any topic you want as long as it has contemporary significance - the best category in my opinion

DI/HI- dramatic/ humorous interpretation- ten minute memorized monolage usually about rape and death unless its humorous then its obviously about something else - unless you find those kind of things....funny?

OI- oral interpretation- the reading of poetry and prose- very artsy very interesting if you are into that sort of thing

DEC- declamation- memorized non-original speech pretty straightforward - sorry fellas -only for freshmen and sophmores

EXTEMP- extemporaneous speaking- you have to make an "extemp box" with newspapers and magazines, you get 30 minutes to make an seven minute speech off the top of your head after drawing a random card on current events. - its super fun.

DUO- duo - two people in a memorized ten minute exchange of acting , except you cant face or touch....ha each other , yes those are rules.

LD- Lincoln Douglas Debate- one on one debate - ur given a resolution and you roll with it make sure you prepare a negative and affirmative case beforehand.

POLICY- policy debate - team debate. Exactly that.
CONGRESS- i seriously have no idea what this is but its really only at national or college tournaments

Speech and Debate is a club- not a way of life as some would suggest
but it takes alot of time if you really care about it
don't get carried away
its not cool to wear "forensics" lettermen jackets. and it never will be.
This club is a great way to meet people, sound intelligent, improve your studying and memorization skills and have alot of fun. ( yes im really serious)

Beach ball speech

Any (usually political) subject which, when mentioned by the speaker, causes them to move their hands up and down while talking, as if they were holding an invisible beach ball. Also known as Watermelon politics.
I really enjoyed the Obama V McCain debate last night, but there was a lot of beach ball speech, too.

Hate speech

(formerly free speech) A term used typically by a left leaning individual to dismiss an argument they do not like or can't think of a rebuttal for. If you cannot be proven right with logic, reducing your opponent's argument and character is a good way to come out virtuous and save face. Continuing to label things as hateful reduces the idea space of things you need to comprehend, making it easier to recite answers for arguments you don't have a fully formed opinion on. Reducing language is the best way to limit the amount of things you need to learn. If quantum mechanics class was too difficult, simply label it hate speech and there's no need to learn the formulas!
