Legitimate cases are quite rare and the condition is generally seen as a laughable excuse for committing theft.

Danielle Stella, Republican candidate for Congress and QAnon believer, claims that due to PTSD she has no memory of shoplifting items from Target and only recalls walking into the store. It is unclear if she has been formally diagnosed as suffering from narcoklepsy.
