Term used for unorthodox advertising, usually used to promote small-to-medium business's in a low cost, yet attention grabbing manner.

2XA Advertising wrote coupons for local a local pizza place in the dirt at the park, and everyone who took a photo of it to the local pizza place, got a free slice of pizza.

Online Marketing Cowboy

An Online Marketing Cowboy is someone who works in the field of online marketing but is not really qualified in any way to practice it. Usually very full of themselves and egocentric, online marketing cowboys think they know it all while in reality often have 1 way of working filled with low quality, shady strategies that do not work in the long run, yet are easier to use.

"Hey, I heard you are no longer working with Daryl, why is that?" "Bro, that guy is an Online Marketing Cowboy, he has no idea what he is talking about."

Dead Baby Marketing

A term coined by web traffic and promotion company uSocial.net, meaning the act of driving attention to something by using shock-tactics that would normally garner the interest of the majority of the public.

An press release that uses an extreme or 'shock' title to draw attention to it would be an example of Dead Baby Marketing.

Guerilla Marketing

Guerilla Marketing is a verb, and is described as the act of mass promoting a product or event in public. In most cases, this is the object of placing a flyer for an event in the hands of a person, or placed on their automobile.

The street teams "Guerilla Marketing" tactics, brought in about three hundred people to a performance hosted by NLCProductions, and all they did was place flyers on car windows!
