A phrase used to cover up what could be perceived by others as a racist or uncultured comment. It is also used by listeners to diffuse tension when someone else says something questionable.

to "father" a child/children that you are not biologically related to because the woman does not know the birth father or want to be "involved" with the father....and she looks towards another man to claim as the next best thing

An i guess moment is used when its not really a yes question but not a no so you just say i guess, an agreement
"i don't want to go to school even though its the last day of school"
