camper

A player, usually in an FPS who positions himself somewhere hard to spot and shoot anyone who comes in sight. Camping is often associated with the sniper rifle becouse in most first person shooters the sniper rifle is a ticket to one hit kills. Most players will be annoyed by this becouse even people who have alot of skill and might be on a killing spree can easely be killed by the camper. To camp you don't need any skill at all. But offcourse if you're a skilled player you might need to camp once in a while. But players who camp every round can very easely be called n00bs or newbs

Spawn camping is camping a spawn point. Where the players respawn after death.

Camping in an MMORPG is mostly 'Corpse Camping'. Becouse the player needs to ressurect at his/hers corpse. And another player waiting at the dead players corpse can shoot someone who ressurects, again, again, and again. The difference between this and normal camping is that you can get banned for this.

*player runs around trying to find better weapons and gets shot in the head by a camper*

Corpse Camping:
*player gets killed after ressurecting, three times in a row*

A person sitting out in the bush with his weapon waiting for an unsuspecting person to come by him. this is experienced in online gaming such as counter-strike in cs_assault where the entire map is filled with goddamn lame ass pussy camping hoes in every corner of the map with most likely an awp. these players will sit there the whole round doing nothing but play with their dicks waiting for everyone one else to move, but since the rest of the community is camping...we have one massive geek orgy over the net.

Someone who stays in one spot without moving more than 2 inches, just to get kills or because they have no idea how to play. Snipers who are campers need to learn how to fucking play. The only exception is when your covering a flag, but people still get pissed.

Someone who hides or "stays" in one place for a long period of time (usually in first person shooter games), waiting for an unsuspected enemy to walk past to direct a lame kill "see lamer", mostly unskilled players who only want to earn points for themselves in a game camp, without really benefiting their team or playing fair at all.In most games camping will eaither get you kicked or hated in a game.
