No Swing

Phrase said at the end of a sentence when someone is over complimenting a married couple to the point the convo goes from flattering compliments to uncomfortable tone suggesting the desire to engage in a potential sexual encounter or inappropriate PDA with the couple.

Oh you guys are my favorite couple.I just love being around you two. I could just eat you both up...No Swing.

Informal cricketing term used when a batsman takes a giant slog at a ball but completely misses. Equivalent to "swing and a miss" in baseball. Usually used as a sledge at under-12s cricket matches.

"Is he gonna whack this one for six? No, he's been bowled! Big swing, no ding!"

There is no war apparent, but in actuality there is a cruel war going on which the outsiders do not know about, bystanders do not talk about, and insiders fight using all means necessary while still trying their best to hide it from the public.

There is no war in Ba Sing Se. Except, there is. The phrase originates from the American anime Avatar, in which Ba Sing Se is secretly taken over by the Fire Nation. As propaganda, guides are brainwashed into saying, "There is no war in Ba Sing Se" whenever questioned about a possible war.

It is used in real life to satirize and joke about propaganda.

"Russia is not at war with Ukraine, as there is no war in Ba Sing Se."
"The economy in the US is fine, there is no war in Ba Sing Se"
