Atheist 

A person who is strong enough that they have come to their own conclusions about religion. These people do not just jump on the bandwagon and believe what everybody else tells them. Many people think that atheists are ungodly and sinners, but are in truth just normal people who have their own beliefs. Saying that an atheist is a sinner or an ungodly person is racism as well and is no better than saying that Jewish people or Islamic people are evil. And it is a common stereotype to say that all atheists are pompous or know-it-alls, they are just normal people who have come up with their own original thoughts on life.

Yes, I am an atheist. That does not mean that I am an immoral person, it just means that I have different beliefs than the general public.

And I wouldn't be going off on this tangent, but some of the definitions I have seen for this word are unfair and extremely biased.

a follower of atheism, a nontheism religion (lack of). atheists do not believe in God or gods. usually they are strong supporters of science, humanism, skepticism and do good deeds, but not out of fear like christians (hell).

atheist 

An individual who acknowledges religion but doesn't practice or believe in any god, afterlife or higher power.

There are two types of Atheists. Those that hate god and religion as a form of rebellion and believe in disbelief only temporarily until they feel they've gotten their ammount of justice. Then there are those atheists that respect others beliefs and feel that everyone is entitled to their own opinion until the time of death.

A person who does not believe in the existence of any supernatural god(s) or goddess(es).

In the face of zero objective evidence for the existence of any supernatural entity (indeed, it is impossible to objectively prove the existence of any supernatural entity, hence the term "faith"), an atheist is one who rationally concludes that until/unless objective evidence of such a supernatural entity (at which point it would be arguable that such an entity would no longer be considered supernatural) appears, the only logical stance to take is to not assume that any such entities exist.

atheist 

There are a few ways to be an athieest....

1: To be really annoying and make fun of people for their belife in god, or some other supernatural being. Therefore dicraseing all his/her athiest friends whom they are trying to impress.
2:To be a passive atheist, one who does not give a flying fuck about what everyone elce is beleving and just goes with what they think, and do not try to convince other to follow them.
3:To be poseur atheist, when you say you dont belive in god and yet you still go to church, youth group, ect. and while there ATTEMPT to act as if you dont care, but secrectly you do.
4:To be an on agian off agin atheist, this is an extemly annoying type of atheiest, this is a peson who will tell you they are an atheist as soon as they find out you are to try and impress you, then will later come and tell you that they have converted to christanity or some other religion. THEN will come and tell you, like three days later, then they are not back to being an atheist. (as if you care....)

3:Some girl- "Yeah im like toatlly agenst relgion,its terible, and really dumb too, i hate those stupid idiots who belive in it...." *cries inside* "forgive me lord.."

4:Me- "Mhmm, im an atheist"
Girl- "Really....me too"
*three days later*
Girl- "Im sorry, dont get mad at me, im a catholic now."
me- "Its not like i care you know...."
*Two hours later...*
Girl- "OMIGOSH, religion is so stupid, i hate it (ect.)"
Me- "Will you make up your mind?!"

Atheist 

someone who simply does not believe in god/gods. someone who doesnt need some made up person to make their life worth living. they live for themselves and the people they care about. they are people just like everyone everyone else they just refuse to believe in something that there is no proof of. and who can blame them. i am an atheist and i understand it completely. when we learn about other religions in school (i got to a catholic school ironically enough) they teach us that religions like hinduism were created by the people to get them through the days in their lives. so assuming that historians aren't liars which is questionable but we'll go with it then these people following this so called prophet moses spent 40 years in a desert eating nothing but bread chasing after some peice of land they arent even sure exists. now to me that sounds like the perfect reason to find something to get you through. lets think about it. people get pissy at moses obviously i mean come on its been 40 years so moses tells little white lie and writes these rules that ironically enough outline what it "accepted" by "society" the people who are clearly brainwashed (cause what mororon would go on that trip) think wow this god talked to us and is gonna save us. moses reinforces his little white lie and expands on it with these stories about this almighty being of his. they tell their kids and those people tell their kids and so on. then one day 4 of them decide to write it down. BOOM! may i introdice you to THE BIBLE. its makes perfectally logical sense. so let us be. at least we aren't dependant on some being we know nothing about other then what some book that just appeared one day tells us. if god is so real then why is the world like it is. free will you say ? no such thing. every action you take it influenced by something be it your surroundings or something someone said or hell what your "god" thinks is ok. no one makes a choice entirely without influence. there is no such thing as free will or "god" wouldnt have sent moses those rules. god is a figment of imagination that people use as something to fall back on. be independant dont let what people and some book tells you is ok rule you life. live for yourself not god.

Atheist 

An atheist is someone who does not believe in a deity or god. Some can be arrogant however others generally don't care. (Note, stop being biased on this article Athiests and Theists.)

Theist:Do you think some of the Athiests on Urban Dictionary are biased?

Atheist: No, you aren't either though because you aren't a bad person trying to convert people and being intolerant. Instead you acctualy help people, like at the soup kitchen.
