a rich suburban kid who dresses like pat benatar getting molested by the cure who cuts his/her arm with a razor, sits in the dark, writes sad depresing suicidal poems goes to starbucks and thinks his/her life is meaningless just so he or she can get sympothy and attention... mainly pre-pubescent douchebag teens.

Emo
1. A new-age style of music developed by musicians such as Emmanuel from Emo Dagher who incorporate powerful emotion into lyrics with uplifting music accompanying. This could also be called 'soulful music' as the overall tone is relatively positive.
2. A dark genre of music that combines varied rock music type instrumentation with often depressed, depressing or downright whiney lyrics. This is in a way punk music gone bad due to a combination of depression, low self esteem and people apparently wanting to feel more depressed thanks to the singer whining about their problems. This could also be due to wanting to relate with it, but in the end it only turns a grim mind state into a rather generic lifestyle.
3. The people who walk around dressed in gothic/punkish clothing who constantly act depressed and/or monotone due to several reasons, usually including lack of attention from both peers and family, not wanting to get over their problems, and a dominating 'victim' mindset which usually causes them to falsely believe they can't do anything about their problems. This is obviously a foolish choice on the part of the individual but stupid and/or brainwashed people seem to enjoy not enjoying themselves, so in this writer's opinion, let 'em whine, just make sure they do it somewhere else.
4. An attempt to get 'friends' made most often by people who have none. In such cases as this the individual gives up their individuality for sake of conforming entirely to what these 'friends' say is right to be accepted. In reality these are not the person's friends as they are apparently very superficial and in some amusing cases, these same people can walk around whining about how others conform.

Puberty-ridden attention-starved teenagers. They call themselves non-conformists, yet all they do is follow trends. They cry alot and act like pussies (due to further attention deprivation) whenever in public. When not in public, they spend their time taking pictures of themselves in mirrors looking like bitches. Nobody really wants to see that anyway. They all wear tight clothes and excessive amounts of makeup (boys and girls) and write droll and mundane poems about their "horrible" life. You know, the life in which they have food, shelter, and rich parents that love them. That life. Pretty horrible, eh? I personally feel a strong urge to drop-kick them on sight due to the unbearable amount of faggotry they expell.

People,who despite others opinions couldnt give less of a damn what everyone else thinks,Some yes are fakes.But There are some ,that because of those fakes everyone thinks that they are or act the same.No not all emo's cut themselves.."hardcore emo's" doesnt mean they are sooo emo theyll cut themselves.because "hardcore emo's" are usually fake(not all but usually) because they belive that thats what being emo means.Anywho you can usually "distinguish" what an emo looks like because Most wear the next items.-skinny jeans(usually black) -tight t-shirts or v-necks(band ones or badass cartoon drawings on them(x) -sweaters (tight on them) -accesories(bow,bracelets,scrfs,chokers.ect. Yea about it(: Note - Emo's will not always talk about their depressing life..even if it is,They arent found crying,true emo's:will fake smiles to not ruin anyone elses day,Will smile even if it's only once in a while,Dont Cut themselves with their friends for FUNZYS, Actually most dont even like talking about that term,Some do actually have depression problems not for attention but for actual reasons.

a emo is a person who knows reality unlike anyone else.....emos are the best pepole on earth and dont waste theair time playing halo and sitting theair ass down eating chetos.....emos are probly also the only good looking girls around hear to....case theay aint SITTING theair ass down playing halo....so if your emo YOU RULE!!!!
