When a 20 or 30-something stays at home mindlessly browsing pages on the Internet while his/her friends are out on the town, thus imitating the behavior of someone much older, passing the time by knitting.

Jamie didn't come out to the club tonight, he's at home interknitting.

When a group of people are all on their phones/devices at the same time while still interacting with each other and intermittently sharing information and having a good time doing it without shame or judgement.

We were supposed to get together to watch a movie but instead ended up sitting around interknitting. It was awesome.
