Very long running TV program that started in 1971 and it featured the best in "black" music including R&B, soul, funk, disco, and hip-hop. Hosted by the coolest m-f'er ever and downright nice guy Don Cornelius (RIP)
Soul Train today is probably best
remembered for it's "heyday" in the mid thru late 1970's. The awesome animated opening sequences, big afros, and bad 1970's fashions that strangely look "hip"
now. Singer Jody Watley got her start on "Soul train" as a dancer btw!
The famous "line dance" where folks would be able to show off their moves to the latest hits. Always a "live"
performance or two by a musical act, and
of course Don Cornelius's interview. It wasn't called "the hippest trip in America" for nothing!
We miss you Don, we miss Soul Train, and we miss all the great music, talent, and sounds you exposed us to!
