A person who is stuck in an airport overnight due to flight cancellation and having nowhere to go.

All flights to Burbank were cancelled, so I ended up an airport refugee until the following day.

Airport hot 

A woman in the aviation industry who is moderately attractive, but far from hot. Her attractiveness is often exaggerated since 85% of the people in aviation are males and there are few attractive women to compare her to.

"Airport hot" women often have inflated egos due to the undeserved attention they receive from being around so many single men. When compared to attractive women outside of the aviation industry, their looks usually pale in comparison.

That girl over there is airport hot. If you saw her in a club next to other women, you wouldn't even look twice.

Geena wrote her friend she misses him. She usually doesn't say that, but she was in the airport and she has airport syndrome.
