The term pick me is used for people who specifically drag attention to themselves. Wanting people to feel sorry for them or just being sorry individuals themselves.

speaking from experience (being friends with a pick-me), there are many people today who will do anything for the attention and validation from men.
there are men who will find humor off of r@pe/SA, misogyny, homophobia, racism, and more. a person who craves the attention from men will adapt to that type of humor to please problematic men. a person who craves attention from men will throw their own friends under the bus (specifically non-men) to praise other men; to put them first before anything.

i really dislike sara, she is a pick me. i remember one time she purposely made fun of me in front of a huge group of boys just to see them all laugh... i never felt so embarrassed yet so betrayed in my entire life.

A pick me is.someone who constantly refers to themself in horrible manners such as "I'm an ugly skeleton", they also constantly say things such as "nobody likes me, nobody loves me, I'm forever alone" a pick me is someone who would rate themself a 2/10 but secretly rate themself a 9 or a 10 just to get other people's approvals.
Pick me's usually cheat but blind people into thinking they was the ones who was cheated on.
They make people believe they have low self esteem but masturbates to themself in the mirror.
