Ostrich Kick

A powerful forward thrusting kick, similar to that of what an ostrich does when cornered. It can be a potential deathblow when the ostrich does it, but not necessarily as bad when a human does it.
friend 1: I heard a pitbull was chasing you yesterday. What happened?
friend 2: Yeah, I ran for about a block and got tired so i turned around and ostrich kicked it in the face. It lived, but it was still out cold when i passed the street an hour later.
friend 1: i guess it won't be chasing anyone again for a long time.

Ostrich manager

A manager who would prefer to put their head in the sand rather than deal with problems.

This kind of manager effectively encourages workplace bullying and harassment and allows the nastier co-workers to run the show.
John: "How come Joe is able to get away with so much? Is he sleeping with the boss or something?"

Bill: "Nah, we just have an ostrich manager. He won't do a thing."

ostrich maneuver

The Ostrich Maneuver is the state of a person burying their head to avoid any given situation, much like an Ostrich covers it's head to avoid danger.

Ostrich's bury their heads based on the simplicity, "if I can't see them, they can't see me". People pulling the Ostrich Maneuver commonly figure the same.

Generally the Ostrich Maneuver is a person's last line of defence, given it's failure rate.
Ted didn't do his homework, so today in Math class, he pulled the Ostrich Maneuver by hiding his head under the desk. Unfortunately his teacher saw his backside up in the air and found him effortlessly.
