In dota, a popular wc3 custom game it is when a 1 or more players uses the shadows to get behind an enemy and "gank" them. It is more of a suprise attack from behind usually having a group of people and resulting in total pwnage of the noob being ganked.

The noob was way into enemy territory so i ganked him giving me a godlike killing spree.
