Mommy Dearest

A term of irony used for a very self-serving mother with very little inherent nurturing instinct and often a victim of psychosis and/or bipolar disorder. Her ugly and abusive behaviors often include but are not limited to: name calling, tyrannical micromanaging, violent rages, insensitivity, blaming her mistakes on everyone else, extreme vanity, envy of her childrens' talents disguised as "constructive" criticism, and a propensity towards often having a very phony and pleasant public facade. Joan Crawford was the prime example of such a mother.
Child #1: My mom grounded me for not making decent grades this quarter. She's an evil witch!

Child #2: Mommy Dearest is so distracted with her ego and ambitions that my grades only cross her mind when she remembers that they are going to reflect on her public image. THAT's evil witch dummy.

Child #1: Touché!

The most important one. The one that makes the sun brighter everyday,

the one you’ll love till you’re old and gray, the one that’s there for you each night and day, the one that you’ll stay inside by the fire spending all day laughing and cuddling with, the one that you just feel comfortable with and want to spend forever with. The one you really, truly, unconditionally love. The One. My dearest.
I love you my dearest” 💕❤️
“Wow, that couple is so cheesy, I hear they call each other “love” and “dearest”!”
The MOST of it all. Most wonderful, amazing, freakin fantastic, precious being imaginable. Dearest is all that's needed to bring a sMile. Dearest would do nothing less than get you lifted. Simply fresh. Straight sick. Dope, even pimpin. Dearest remains your #1.

Dearest as a "label" cannot be followed by a noun. ie. Dearest friend. Dearest IS the noun. You (the person), quite simply, ARE Dearest.
Sunshine will always follow where Dearest is.

The Vampire Diaries

A series of books that came out in the early 90's. It focuses on a popular, pretty blonde girl named Elena Gilbert who is after the new and mysterious boy at school from Italy, Stefan Salvatore.

Stefan, we soon discover, is a vampire who avoids Elena because she has an uncanny resemblance to a girl that he and his (sexy, badass) brother, Damon Salvatore, both fell in love with (Katherine Von Swartzschild) centuries ago. Both brothers murdered one another after Katherine killed herself and separated once they awoke in their vampiric state confused. Cut to the present and strange things begin to happen once Stefan arrives into town.

The Vampire Diaries series consists of:

The Awakening

The Struggle
The Fury
Dark Reunion
The Return: Nightfall
The Return: Shadow Souls (Release: 2/9/10)
The Return: Midnight (Release: 2010)

The CW has announced that they will be making a show based on the books. It will premiere on Sept. 10th, 2009 (which will change the look of the characters, history of the characters, eliminate/add characters, etc) YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
I will choose The Vampire Diaries over Twilight because it has a better plot, more supernatural beings, characters with personalitites, and because it's main character is the furthest thing from a Mary Sue.

Depriestified

Verb: To be stripped of priest-status and have your affiliations with the church severed.

This state of being entirely removes any rights or privileges one would have as a priest and is used to cast out those who would otherwise dishonour the church by assosciation.
i.e. "The two monks who were responsible for the assassination attempt were depriestified in a public ceremony meant to heap shame upon them."

Also:
Scholar 1: "The public ceremony was a key part of punishment for high crimes during the medieval period. For example, one would have the flesh stripped by hot pincers, then have a molten lead, sulfur cocktail poured into the open wounds, how horrible!"

Scholar 2: "Quite right my chap, but imagine the pain and anguish that would come with being depriestified in a time where so much relied on your status."

Scholar 1: "Is depriestified even a word?"

Scholar 2: "It is at UW."

Smart Ass Scholar: "I'll put it on Urban dictionary later."

Scholars 1 and 2: "Quite right!"
