Baldur effect

Causing something to happen by trying to prevent it
Effect named after Baldur from Norse mythology, who was prophesied to die a needless death, which led to Freya placing all kinds of spells on him, making him invulnerable to almost everything
Because of that, other gods tried to see if he’s really invulnerable to anything
As a result Baldur was killed with a mistletoe

Conclusion: By trying to protect Baldur, Freya’s spells were the cause of Baldurs death
Uranus died due to the Baldur effect

I was just thinking about making a new character! I wanted to do a transgender Human Selûne War Cleric so I could see what kind of special dialogue you get with Shadowheart. YEEEEEEES BALDUR'S GAAAAAAAAATE!"

Baldrick

Noun: From the popular character Baldrick in Britis sitcom Blackadder. Baldrick's defining feature is a kind of innocent stupidity. Therefore, someone who makes honest mistakes on a regular basis might be described as a baldrick"
"Blackadder:Baldrick, what are you doing?
Baldrick: I'm carving something on this bullet sir.
Blackadder: I see. And What are ou carving?
Baldrick: I'm carving Baldrick sir.
Blackadder:Why?
Baldrick: Well, you know how they say that somewhere out there, there's a bullet with yur name on it, I thought if I owned thee hullet with my name on it I'd be safe, because I'll never shoot myself...
Blackadder: really? Pity...
Baldrick:...and the chances of there being two bulletes with my name on are very slim indeed."

Anyone capable of this kind of idiocy is a potential baldrick.

Urban Dictionary Balderdash

A variation of the game Balderdash created by CB in 2008, using words from www.urbandictionary.com.
How to Play Urban Dictionary Balderdash:

Players take turns to be the host. The host finds a word or phrase on urbandictionary.com and announces it to the rest of the players, but keeps the definition secret. Each player must make up a definition of the word or phrase and write it down whilst the host rights down the real definition. The host then collects in all of the players definitions, and reads them out in a random order along with the real definition. Players then vote on which definition they think is the real one. Players get 1 point for every one that votes for their definition, and 2 points if they vote for the real definition. The host gets no points. The game ends once everyone has been the host once and the player with the most points wins.

balderdash

You're talking shite, pal, that's total balderdash

NB Balderdash could be used to describe what Prime Minister Tony Blair talks on a regular basis, both in and out of Parliament
