Failure has been discovered to have electromagnetic properties of its own, dubbed failwaves by top scientists in the field of failology. These failwaves often cause objects or people in the vicinity to break or malfunction, and are the reason why you never want to say "It can't possibly get any worse". Failwaves can be measured in SNAFU units, often called a "sna-u".

Used more colloquially to describe anything failure prone, failwaves describe how sucky something is.
I can tell just by looking at it that this restaurant's failwaves are off the charts.

The review I read said it measured at 33 sna-us. The waitstaff couldn't get anything right until the fifth try.
