A Nerd is an intelligent individual who enjoys the science fiction or fantasy genre. There are many types of nerds, which includes but is not limited to:
The Gamer- Into video games, and knows a lot about them.
The Geek- More into the intelligent part, or could just prefer the title of Geek.
The Boardgame Nerd- Plays board games.
The Anime Nerd- likes anime.
The collector- collects cool sci-fi or fantasy stuff.
The Brony- likes my little pony.
The Furry- Into animal morphing stuff, not all furries are nerds.
The Theatre kid- Not always nerds but I thought I should include it.
A nerd could be more than one of any of these or none of these.

Stranger Things
The Umbrella Academy
Harry Potter
Dark Horse Comics
Dungeons and Dragons
Comic-Con
The Tick (some old superhero comic thing)

The evil centaur team and Tirek turns Applejack into a dragon at Midnight Castle, and then Megan and the other ponies have to use Moochick's magic to defeat his rainbow of darkness, saving them from a lifetime of enslavement. All the pink in the world can't disguise the irrefutable fact that centaurs and castles and dragons and magic are all standard nerd tropes. Ergo, My Little Pony is nerdy. Ergo, you, Erica, are a nerd.
