appleby ankle 

An Appleby ankle is the term used to describe an injury to an ankle that could have occurred in spectacular circumstances for example falling out of a tree, but actually occurred under really mundane circumstances for example tripping up on a step.

I see you're limping, what have you done?
I've got an Appleby Ankle....yesterday I was climbing dangerous trees but today I tripped over a twig and sprained my ankle.
