A social media app used to create a stereotype of faux beauty, often based on a specific race. For example, lightening skin, hair and eye tones, smoothing skin and adding a rosy tint, narrowing the jaw, etc.
The pretty filter stripped her of her ethnic flavor, and turned her into a caricature of generic beauty.

going dark
Using encryption software and devices to make messages unreadable. In some cases the software can make the data stored self-destruct when someone attempts to access information without a proper password.
The FBI is going after Apple in the courts, because Apple is making it's customers hardware and software difficult to access. The FBI wants a backdoor into Apple devices so terrorist and criminals can't be going dark, when performing illegal activities. Apple is fighting back because a backdoor could allow hackers into their customers computers, making them vulnerable.

Dick had an unearned reputation for being an Iron Ass, but he was actually a draft dodger, and stooge for the military industrial complex.
tailored trash
White collar workers with many of the same characteristics of trailer trash, but which take it to a higher level of cultural depravity. Developers who demand perverse subsidies for creating urban sprawl, too big to fail and jail bankers who demand bonuses when they take down whole economies, flamboyant and racist professional sports team owners who feels entitled to publically funded grandiose stadiums.
The tailored trash claimed to be self made millionaire, but instead was on public welfare in the form perverse public subsidies, and entitlements to public infrastructure for developments that consumed nature and spit out urban sprawl.

compassionate disruption
A program of pushing homeless into social services that move the homeless out of an area and into a place where they can be inadequately treated outside the purview of the public.
The police lured the poor homeless from the downtown, under their new policy of compassionate disruption. The homeless were given the option of a one way Greyhound bus ticket, to see a far a way land, or residency in the local police hotel, and a job doing community service.

Obama Doctrine
On Air Force One on an Asian trip, Obama presented the basic guiding principle of the Obama Doctrine: "Don't Do Stupid Shit". However, he failed to give a coherent vision of the Great Stuff, or even the principles guiding such great decisions for a vision.
