Cominf from the native american's peace pipes, the word today means "to extend a hand of friendship" often to former rivals whom have fallen in your wake.

Often used sarcasticly to show that the speaker/author is "so angry" that s/he must resort to making most of his/her words expletives.

(n.) After a successful candidates' election, or monarchs' ascention to the throne, the media and public will grant them the benefit of the doubt as to whether or not they can actually do thier jobs. After this, usually a month in duration, the scrutiny will begin.
After Bushs' honeymoon period, the world, now with Clinton firmly in the past, started to call him evil and retarded.

A convoy of vehicles (boats, cars, whatever) that has the goods carry-ing merchant ships in the centre, in as close to a circle shape as possible, while the battlecruisers surround the outside. Should they be fired upon, the more expendable battlecruisers will take the damage, and not hit their own firing from the closest range of all. This shape also means that less "armour" is needed to surround the good ships.
An armed convoy is heading our way, there is an opening at the front, lay a few mines for them. We should hit the goods.

A tune, most often accompanied by patriotic lyrics that is declared to be the song representative of that country.
"Oh Lord our God arise,
Scatter our enemies,
And make them fall
Confound their politics
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix
Oh save us all."
--Extract from "God save the Queen"
Scatter our enemies,
And make them fall
Confound their politics
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix
Oh save us all."

See pythagoras.
Pythagors' theorum allows one to calculate the lenght of the "opposite" side (That is, opposite to the right angle) in a right-angled triangle By knowing only the lengths of the other two sides. It can also be mixed with the sine and cosine rules, trigonometry and such to calculate every angle and side length in pretty much any structure. Practical uses involve the measurement of buildings and such.
The method:
•Use the same unit of measurement for all sides.
•Sqaure the lengths of the two shorter sides
•Add the sqaures of the numbers toghether
•Find the sqaure root of that number
•Your answer is the length of the longest side.

A| \C
|__\
. B
Side A is 5cm, side B is 4cm and side C is unknown.
A- 5x5= 25 square cm
B- 4x4= 16 square cm
25+16= 36
Square root of 36= 6.
Side C is 6cm.
Of course, this can also be worked backwards to find the length of the smaller sides, provided there are at least two sides given.
If you try to practically apply this with any lengths other than those given, you will end up with decimals. The above example is the only one that does not end in decimal places.
