A dish from Wales made with old cheese melted on toasted bread. Often called Welsh rabbit because it is thought the people of Wales were to poor to eat meat.

The restaurant has Welsh rarebit on the menu.

The term was used by a hispanic judge in 1996 Sliders episode "As Time Goes By" where in an alternate universe the United States was settled by the Spanish so gringo furbacks were coming from Canada instead of wetbacks from Mexico.
