Noun - a catastrophe of epic proportion; particularly in the deployment or maintenance of IT services or hardware, caused by utter incompetence or a fundamental lack of understanding of the underlying systems.

That crash was an olamity. It could've completely been avoided if he would have had any understanding of package management.
