POW

Stands for prisoner of war. Someone (usually a soldier) taken prisoner by a country involved in a war. They are often conscripted, used for labor, or simply held until the war is over

GOST 

The USSR system of standardizing equipment, still used by the commonwealth of independent states. Stands for gosudarstvennyy standart or государственный стандарт, which means governmental standard

Dont get these GOST gas masks mixed up with the NATO made ones

PMK-3 

The current gas mask that the russian army has (as of early 2019) made standard issue. Surprisingly cheap for a fully functional gas mask, although most russian equipment is extremely efficient. The AK-47 didn't become so popular for nothing
