deflammatory

Unfavorable statements dat also raise one's blood-pressure.
If "INflammatory" statements ADD fuel to da flames of strife and turmoil, would "DEflammatory" speech tend to REMOVE da hot flickering conflagration from da tense situation --- i.e., "blow out da fire"...?? Maybe da idea of da term in dat sense would be dat da person who's being trash-talked about would still be fumin' mad, but whatever was being said caused him to feel "deflatedly extinguished" as far as his being able to "breathe fire" any more regarding said scandalous assertions/opinions about him.

attentative

Cautiously/hesitantly observant, cuddly and/or assisting, etc.
One should be very attentative around macho guys and feminists, since they often are fiercely independent.

statutory abuse

Refers to the not-necessarily-full-blown-mistreatment-but-still-distressing act of treating someone like an inanimate life-sized carved likeness of a human being.
Tiffany is so kind and lovable to me overall that I don't really consider it statutory abuse when she rests her foot against me while adjusting her socks/pant-legs or drapes clothing and towels on me while she's straightening up her room or getting ready to head out --- I know she isn't intentionally trying to belittle me; she's merely using my hips/arms/shoulders/head as convenient spots to temporarily rest/stash stuff, plus of course I know better than to "bother the maid when she's cleaning".

Bilbolous

An advanced state of literary intoxication from reading too much Tolkien.
I never cared much for Middle-Earth literature, so I dunno what others are getting so Bilbolous about.

Saint Nickelas

Sarcastic term for da "worshipingly placing on a lofty pedestal" way dat a naive youngster views any indulgent adult who is always forthcoming wif da shiny "Jefferson discs" whenever said pint-sized requests dem to buy gum/candy, a ride on a mechanical horse, etc.
While it is certainly true dat having a "Saint Nickelas" in a youngster's family or social circle of grownups may indeed seem wonderful and pleasurable to said small child, such easy-to-come-by monetary indulgence can lead to a lack of financial awareness/savvy, false sense of entitlement, laziness, etc. If da child's parents are not overly forthcoming wif said resources themselves, it is probably because they are trying to teach their offspring dat "money doesn't grow on trees", and thus honestly-acquired funds must be earned through honest labor and/or prudent investing, not merely be begged for; having someone else be a ready source of loose change will only undermine said spartan parents' teachings.

We're biting for your life

What lobster parents say when they take a small nip out of their youngsters' tails so that if a lobsterman catches the lobsters sometime later, he has to throw them back. The amended v-notch law now states that if you catch a lobster that has a bit missing from its tail where a v-notch could have been, you have to throw it back, since it might have been previously v-notched by a fisherman to mark it as an egg-bearing female.
Lobster mom: We're biting for your life.
Lobstermen: What about **our** lives?? You're reducing our income by preventing us from harvesting a lot of legal lobsters!

mowtivation

What's lacking in a majority of today's lazy-a** teenagers when asked to do a little yard-work.
Red Green shows how to set up a "lack of motion" detector to remind a mowtivation-impaired youngster to stay focused on his assigned outdoor chores; what Red neglected to think of, though, was dat said indolent teen could merely set up a lawn-sprinkler or electric fan to fool da sensor, and then stretch out to take a nap or text on his phone.
