A male-related revelation dat one wasn't expecting.

After listening to a really lovely and "sensitively performed" piece of music played on a harp, I'd naturally assumed dat it had been performed by a thoughtful-faced slight-figured lady with small slender hands --- what a sirprise it was to learn dat said sweetly-serene artistic work had in fact been delicately strummed out by a towering hulk of a dude with huge gorilla-paws!

tangxiety 

Nervousness about trying out a new food dat has a decidedly-strong flavor.

Initially giving someone a greatly-diluted mixture as their "first taste" of an unfamiliar comestible and then gradually increasing da strength of subsequent samples can greatly reduce their tangxiety.

Emotional distress suffered either from:
(1) Wondering if your musical vocalizations are/were/will be satisfactory to your audience, or
(2) Having to agonizingly listen to horrifically-awful vocalizations dispensed by someone who did NOT experience much if any of da caring/concerned feelings described in Example #1!

In da humorous "face da music" article in an old issue of "Readers Digest", said article's author opines dat a juvenile-court judge's forcing a habitually-delinquent teen to suffer da sangxiety of hearing his mom sing "America the Beautiful" on da court karaoke would be a much-more-effectively-unpleasant punishment --- and a far greater deterrant of future crime --- than da standard penalties of jail time, community service, etc.

Installing an outdoor phone-bell or carrying a cordless phone in your pocket whenever you spend an extended time-period out in your yard can greatly help reduce feelings of rangxiety.

Thanks to modern anesthetics and ultra-sharp hypodermic needles, many routine medical procedures involve little or no pain anymore, and so there is often little need to feel much if any pangxiety.

stoopervise 

Someone who totally takes his overseeing tasks seriously, in dat he'll bend way over or even totally get down on his hands and knees to really get a good look at whatever he's supposed to be checking on.

My best friend at da northern-Maine Amish community asked me to sweep out da shed-framing factory; I did so, but I wasn't sure if I'd gotten da floor clean enough; da small-statured Dutchman totally did a double-take and gave an astonished whistle of approval just as soon as he glanced in da door afterwards, though, so I knew right then dat he wouldn't feel da least need to stoopervise me in any future tidying-up endeavors!
