Coast Guard

A sea-based branch of the United States military that is jointly operated by the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. During times of war, they assist the Navy. During times of peace, their general duties include: border patrol, immigration control, environmental protection, search and rescue, and stopping drug trafficking into the Untied States.
Ensign Jones was part of the U.S. Coast Guard.

warlord

The independent leader of a private military detachment which uses civil dominion over the residents of a region, usually by military force.
Bosnia, Serbia, and several similar countries used to be ruled by warlord factions in the 1990s until NATO and expeditionary forces brought about factional demise.

NATO

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It is composed of many nations from numerous walks of life. Its purpose is to enforce peace treaties in the North Atlantic and to use military force against violators of those treaties or of human rights.
The United States of America is a leading member nation in NATO.

Reichstag

The capitol of the German Parliament before and during World War II. It was burned by Adolf Hitler as he took over Germany and instituted the Third Reich into the center of the power structure. Soviet forces captured it in 1945 during the fall of Berlin, shortly before the Nazi surrender. It has since been replaced with the post-Nazi German Parliament, the Bundesrath.
Alexei was part of the Soviet force that took the Reichstag from the Nazis.
