Hym "A while back I posited that having a beard would protect your face in hand-to-hand combat. Doug Sharpe made a video about the study. They made an artificial bone and covered it in hair of varying lengths and then built a 'striker' to hit the bone. What they found is that they striker would break the bone 100% of the time without any hair. 95% of the time with 5mm of hair. And 45% of the time with a full beard... So, long story short...
