Literally hypocritical people. Refers to individuals who themselves did all sorts of anti-social things such as smoking, drinking, premarital sex in their youth (or continues to do so secretly); whose children, relatives and neighbors still do the same - yet they continue to preach and enforce religious and conservative social values on those they can impose their thuggishness on.
