Short for Poor People Sh-t refering to habits and ways of thinking allegedly common among lower income groups that supposedly contribute to persistent poverty and negative outcomes in their lives.

Karen needs to drop that PPS of hers. Four kids by three different dads before you're 25 is not good for her or those kids.

Manhood

In male prisons in the U.S., the status and respect an inmate attains from never having been anally or orally penetration, or otherwise sexually used, by another man. One's Manhood can be lost in several ways in prison, such as displays of cowardice or falling victim to the scams of others, but is permanently unrecoverable only if one is sexually penetrated or otherwise sexually used by a man.

I heard that Juan lost his Manhood to some vatos on cellblock D last night. Word is that five of 'em jump and went up in 'em in the showers when he had soap in his face.

Prison Pussy

The mouth of a male prison inmate who either willingly or under duress sucks dick while in prison. Sometimes used more narrowly to refer to such inmates who wear goatees or mustaches.

The term serves as an analogy to the vagina's role as receptacle for the penis, with male facial hair viewed as analogous to vaginal pubic hair

Coup d'etat

French term meaning "blow to the state" coined after General Napoleon Bonaparte's 1799 seizure of power and suppression of the Constitution of 1795 in that country. Though often associated with military uprisings a "coup" is defined as any entity within a existing political system that acts illegally to appropriate all power to that entity while often violently suppressing other institutions and power-centers (media, legislatures, trade unions, political parties, etc.).

You know, the 1917 so-called "Bolshevik Revolution" of Lenin and his people in Russia is interpreted by some historians as really just a coup d'etat by an armed political party when Lenin's followers used their control over the capital's local government to seizure control of the whole city, drive out the national government and use St. Petersburg to launch their conquest of the country.

Man-Child

A term originating from Claude Brown's 1965 memoir "Man-Child in the Promised Land" about growing up in the streets of 1940s and 50s Harlem, NYC, one of the earliest and most powerful accounts of ghetto life and its culture. A "Man-Child" originally referred to a boy or adolescent from the streets who was prematurely exposed to and knowledgeable about sex, violence and crime, incarceration, adult responsibility for younger siblings due to a dysfunctional home, and hustling to make a living.

You think life in the 'hood is rough now? Check out Brown's book one day. By the time he was 15 he'd already been locked up, hustling for a living and doing whatever he had to to survive as a man-child on the streets.

Ho Stro

Short for "a Whores' Stroll." A public area used by street-walkers to trawl for clients, usually carrying the connotation of low-end, down-trodden prostitutes working run-down and dangerous parts of town.

Pupo's sister got turned out by one of his boys while he was locked up. Now he's got her workin the Ho Stro by Hunts Point over by Bruckner Blvd most nights, $25 for a suck, $50 to get laid.
