Bill: Yea, I opened my car window and forgot that my application was sitting on the seat, and it blew right out the window.
Dan: What I always do is before opening my window is look around and see if there is anything that can blow out.

What you say when (1) you're supposed to have washed a bunch of big cooking pots, (2) you don't and just fill them a little with water, and (3) someone asks why the pots have not been washed.
A: Hey! Weren't you supposed to wash all the dishes last night. B: I did except for these, I need to let 'um soak. A: You are so lazy.

The idea that someone is guilty unless they can come up with another person who is either guilty or a strong suspect. The idea is usually based on an imprecise process of elimination.
Parent to child: Did you do it?
Child: No.
Parent: Well if you didn't do it, then who did?
Nearby observer: Ah ha, she's using the guilty until alternate suspect principle.
Child: No.
Parent: Well if you didn't do it, then who did?
