Sluff

A somewhat derogatory nickname for the much-maligned English town Slough (pronounced Sla-ow), of which sluff is a possible mispronounciation.

"If I had the wings of a sparrow

and shit on the bastards below" (football song)

"If you jump off at Maidenhead you can get the train to Sluff."

A slang term that can mean either 'really well' or 'really badly', referring to how someone does at an activity.

"'Cos old Alvin smoked 50 a day in his youth he now wheezes and coughs like a dad."

Nickname for the political party New Labour amongst some left-wingers, with the blue referring to what they percieve to be the Tory Thatcherite policies that they have adopted/stolen from the right, whilst totally abandoning any pretence of being a workers party.
