A variation on planking in which a person is pictured looking to their right with a blank look on their face making an upside-down diamond with their hands. This action is named for Hans Thompson who announces on HDNet Fights and uses this pose pretty much constantly when on camera.

When a person without technical or direct knowledge of a subject (a layperson) attempts to explain nuances of that subject to an expert. Simple examples would be an antivaxxer trying to tell a research biochemist how vaccines work, or a flat earther telling an aeronautics engineer how physics proves NASA faked the moon landing.

When a male commenter posts in response to a woman with several walls of text that mansplain a subject. The hallmark of this conduct is a loose or factually deficient understanding of the original comment or post and an insistence on seemingly technical or highly rhetorical argument. Motivation is unimportant though typical stated motivations are “education,” “fairness,” or “playing devil’s advocate.”
