assistant manager

1) A person who thinks they are in power but who is actually a pawn

2) A person who is told they are in charge but who has to lick the boss's ass and do all the bullshit work for a fraction of his pay
1) "She's walking around like a queen now that she's the assistant manager. The fact is; she doesn't know how to make any rules! Maybe her first rule should be to change her fucking underwear so I can't smell toxic queef every time she walks past me!"

2) "Sally, you'll be in charge while I'm not around. If there's a complaint from one of the drunk customer's, you'll deal with it. When someone pukes in the washroom; you'll have to clean it up. When everyone goes home; you'll stick around to close. If you need me, you can try my cell. Your pay will have to stay the same...but you'll be the assistant manager....congratulations!"

Assistant Manager Syndrome

When the assistant manager is more strict or micromanages more than the actual manager as a way to try to prove their worth to corporate. This behavior usually indicates someone being after the store manager position. People with Assistant Manager Syndrome are often condescending due to a distrust in you to execute your job responsibilities properly.

Assistant Manager Syndrome is most prominent after company-wide manager meetings, and the strictness and micromanaging typically retreats to normal levels within a month after these events.
"I've been walking around the sales floor all day and haven't gotten any actual work done."

murderhobo

In a tabletop game, a murderhobo is a player who murders NPCs indiscriminately. This is normally derogatory, referring to a player who totally ignores quests, dialog, backstory, trade, world building etc.

The term is most common with Dungeons and Dragons, but it can be applied to most RPGs where the player is allowed to kill most quest-giving NPCs and NPC traders. E.g. Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Divinity original sin.

In sales terms, a whale is a prospect that is significantly larger than an organization’s average customer.

Whales are large and extremely difficult to close. Due to their immense size, they are highly sought-after.

A whale is typically identified at first by a whale hunter on the sales team, but often requires cross-discipline participation in order to close; this includes assistance from operations, engineering, creative, client success, and business development teams.
"Shit...the sales director chewed me out on the sales call this morning. He's totally pissed that I have nothing in my pipeline. I've been focused on this one whale for so long that I haven't had time to prospect for normal-sized deals."
