As a contestation of looksmaxxing, wizardmaxxing is about rejecting the material and embracing a more spiritual and outwardly-focused existence. Wizardmaxxing focuses on long term goals and a slower paced and mindful lifestyle.

In more humorous settings, wizardmaxxers have many wizard-coded slang terms to help romanticize the more mundane parts of life. For example: they may refer to studying or work as “reading ancient tomes” or “memorizing incantations.”
