A term people use when they can not identify ethnic features on light skinned POC because they perceive POC in stereotypes. When a POC does not fit into those stereotypes, they are lumped with white people, because the person calling them white passing perceives whiteness as the ‘norm’ or default.
“I am a person of colour, because my father is (even though my mother isn’t). Though my appearance gives me privileges my father doesn’t based off of our appearances.I am a White Passing person of colour”
Used when someone, usually a non-binary AFAB with blue hair and a septum piercing, who is self diagnosed with autism, needs moreoppression points, or is trying to win a Facebook argument
“Nice assumptions… I’m actually white passing because my great great great grand mothers cousins great grandfather was from South Africa”
