Uncreativity

Uncreativity is what happens when the relentless quest for innovation can go way too far, but otherwise in a well meaning way.
The concept of Uncreativity proposed by Chris Bilton (Citation2015) highlights a crucial counterbalance in the creative process, challenging the preeminence of novelty by emphasizing the refinement and valuation of existing ideas. He articulates ‘uncreativity’ as a force that provides stability, asserting it ‘provides a necessary ballast’ against the relentless quest for innovation.
