Toll house

Toll house is Orthodox Christian Teaching of the souls journey to Heaven after death. It is good to know that toll house teaching is not universally accepted within Orthodoxy. The teaching goes like this: After you die, an Angel takes you to Heaven trough space, during the journey however there is about 20 toll houses, in each one there waits a demon, who tries to accuse you of different sins you committed in your life. But the Angel besides you tries to prove your innocence or Repentance of these sins. If the Angel cannot defend you, you fall into hell. But if the Angel can defend you trough the toll houses, you get to Heaven.

toll house pie 

2 eggs
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. finely packed brown sugar
1 c. butter, melted and cooled
1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 c.) Nestle's Toll House semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell

If using frozen pie shell, use only deep dish style and thaw completely. Place on cookie sheet; bake 10 minutes longer.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In large bowl, beat eggs until foamy. Add flour and both sugars. Beat until well blended, and blend in melted butter. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Pour into pie shell. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

Makes 1 pie.

A preference of mine is to not put any nuts in and add an extra half cup of sugar and sometimes an extra cup of chocolate chips.
