Used when some geek delves too far into a technical explanation. to some girl on MSN or AIM.
Geek: "Hey my webcam isn't working, sorry. I could explain why but won't"
Girl: "Okay"
Geek: "Lol, I took it appart to make it into an infrared cam. It's pretty easy you just cut a bit of film negative up and put it inside, taking the old filter out. Means it see's infrared light instead of visible, cause the film negs blank that out. It's pretty cool I'm wearing a black shirt and it shows up white on the camera."

Can also be pronounced tildernep (til-der-nep).

A quick reply to someone after they've sent you a link to a long boring web page which they said was "interesting" but all you saw as blah, blah, blah and not enough pictures.

As Americans, our attention span demands that everything be summarized to a quick sound-bite and be accompanied by pictures and/or video so that we may digest the data with very little effort. After all, we are busy texting, talking, watching TV, de-friending people, and reading several blog entries at the time we clicked your lousy link.
"My girlfriend forwarded me some link about global warming and it was totally tl;dr;nep. They should make a movie or something about it. Then maybe I'd care. If there were enough naked women in it. Score!"

Too Lazy; Didn't Read
tl;dr originally meant "Too long; didn't read" the abbreviation is often used by people who just can't be bothered to read a piece of text. Many now see the term as meaning "Too Lazy; didn't read"" as a result of misuse.

An online posting which looks like a long, informative article, but is often filled with word salad, and contains links to an online store. Sometimes the "article" appears to be related to what they're selling, but other times it is completely unrelated.
