Threadipede 

A threadipede is the long white thread that hangs down from your cut-off blue jeans shorts and brushes against the back of your leg in such a way that it causes you to think that an insect has just landed on you.

Daniel thought that he was about to be stung by a horsefly, but he immediately relaxed once he realized that it was only a threadipede.

When someone posts in a thread on an online forum, long after the thread has died, hence being a "lich" and bringing the thread back from the dead.

That thread's last post was 3 months ago... threadlich strikes again!
