Skarverennet is a three day to end praisal of the ancient skiing-god Ro'o-i-Te-Hiripoi who is said to have eaten birch trees for breakfast and surfed the avalanches from the mountains. "HUTTETU" he used to shout surfing the avalanche, hence the Norwegian term "Hyttetur" which is in his honour
